Black prevents Bc4, but he creates a target in the process. This answer to b3 is not very effective, as we saw in the Baker game. 7...e4 8.Bc4 Qh5 (8...Qf5 9.Nd4) 9.Qe2 f5 10.d3 and black can't win much with the pin. Since forcing moves do not work, developing pieces is the way to go. 7...Nc6 8.Bc4 Qe4+ 9.Qe2 Qxe2+ (or 9...Bxf3) leaves Black with the better position. 8.c4 bxc4 9.bxc4 Qc5 10.h3 Bf5 11.g4 Excessive pawn pushing and lack of development come back to bite white, especially this move. Be4 12.Qa4+ Bc6 13.Qd1 e4 14.Ng5 e3!
Great combination!! Black could capture knight but he goes after even more, the rook in the corner. 15.fxe3 Bxh1 16.h4 Be7 17.d4 Qc6 18.Rb1 Qg6 19.e4 Bxg5 20.Bxg5 Qxe4+ 21.Be2 0-0 22.a3 Bf3 23.Be7 Re8 24.Qa4 Qxb1+ Qe2 mate. |
